Every year I get the opportunity to take a photo trip with my two good friends Mr. Fili and Foster White and this year we set our lenses on the great city of Montreal in Canada. After 13 hours on a train we made there in the evening and just spent some time getting the lay of the land before venturing out the next day. I had a great time in this great city and got to meet a lot of cool people. I also thought a lot about the type of photographer I want to be and from talking to and watching both Fili and Foster shoot a lot of anxieties I have been having about shooting disappeared. There is no right or wrong way to do this and there should be no reason to box yourself into one category, because you just have to be a photographer for the love. I think I had forgot that recently actually and this trip helped me to remember that this is an activity that I truly love and enjoy. I let a lot of the things that I want to learn and trying to get my name out there get in the way so much that it is nice to step back and have a trip where you just shoot just because you enjoy doing it. Having two friends who are your biggest competition/inspiration helped a lot to. It was fun to see the excitement all in one place and know that you have a connection with individuals through this medium and every person that you end up photographing you end up having a connection as well, because you say in that moment that you both existed and that it meant enough to freeze time and capture it forever. Big thanks to Fili and Foster for making this an awesome trip and looking forward to the one next year as well as the return trip to Montreal next summer.

Food trucks are everywhere in Montreal and it is some of the best stuff you will ever have. This dude found out we were traveling and let all of us sample this delicious dish of mushrooms, cheese melted right of a giant wheel and potatoes.

Foster making the adult decision to not gorge himself with food truck deliciousness because we had just started walking for the day and it would have been a long day to get full that early. He was not happy about it.
