Headed down to Richmond this past Saturday and got to spend some time with my boy Mr. Fili. Always fun roaming around the streets of RVA or heading down to Cary Town and seeing what we can find down there. Ran into this lovely woman coming out of The Byrd Theater and she was nice enough to let me grab a flick. Easily my favorite of the day.
Lately, I have really been getting into my street work. It has been a nice relaxation from putting everything together for this website. You never know what you are going to get when you head out onto the street which is what I think the big appeal is for me. You get to catch people naturally just as they are. I've rarely been able to recreate some of the emotion that I find on the street into my studio or concept work, but shooting street is definitely a huge help in recognizing it.
Mr. Fili outside of The Grand Budapest Hotel. I still have not seen this movie ( I know I'm an asshole). Anderson is the man.
This is a homeless guy that sings on the streets of Carytown. Fili and I ran into him the last time we were down there street shooting. He sounds just like sam cook. Here he was about to sing to some couples on a double date.
Ran into my friend Jody.
We also stopped at this crazy packed Greek festival that had a ton of good looking food and people walking around with open wine bottles everywhere.
